10 Ways to Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day: 4,3,2,1

The Tribune gave us 10 different ways to celebrate St. Patrick’s day – we’ve covered 10 – 5. Today we are going to finish it off with 4 more great suggestions (these from your Lexington Inn SLO blogger).

Number 4: Find an Irish Poet and your favorite passage of his/her work. Get out into God’s green hills, bring your special person (or do it alone), and read/share the thoughts of some of the Irish’s greatest thinkers. There are too many to list. Although they tend to be a bit depressive in their thoughts, they have a gift for crafting the words into lyrical beauties.

Number 3: Corny as it is, dress yourself up in a green fancy outfit. You’re sure to get many happy glances and plenty of opportunities for conversation.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve always been amazed at Irish dancing – it’s so fun…and energetic!

Imagine learning to dance in this authentic style. It turns out that we have a resource for this right here in San Luis Obispo: The Clauddaugh Dance Company. They offer beginner classes on Tuesdays from 4:30-5:30, Fridays from 3:30-4:30, and Saturdays from 9:30-10:30.

Aside from being a really fun thing to try, you might just discover you’ve got the magic of the green flowing through your veins! Of coarse the Clauddaugh Dance Company showcases their students’ performances throughout the year in SLO. The beauty of this thing: it’s great fun from grandparents to young children, so might be a fun way to spend time together as a family.

And alas, when St. Patrick’s day arrives you’ll be able to dance a respectable jig!
